Per Logan's post about our current project, we're asking for another round of volunteers.
Ideally we need some of you who volunteered last time to come back, and then some of you who did not. To give us a control group.

I am not as good as la Signora Davis at thinking up rewards, but I can offer volunteers the following;

- A little guinea pig desktop buddy for your computer that will say encouraging phrases every so often
- I will stop pretending that I can't speak English when you come to me for help
- One minor attempt to change a ship AI of your choice
- A tipsy toast to your virtues at the next party we attend
- Access to the browser history of the wrangler of your choice

Speaking of the next party we attend, I may need assistance for my costume for Jack and Mallory's. Is anyone good with makeup and willing to help me, please? I need the perfect... I think it is 'winged eyeliner'? And help with eyeshadow. Lips I think I can do myself?

I know we're all a kind and considerate group, so I don't even need to say this, but please be nice! Meeting a partner's friends can always been intimidating. [...] And if you feel like you absolutely have to say something about the lip ring, just send it to me instead. [...] That doesn't mean don't compliment him or it generally, of course! Just ... help him feel welcome, please.

I'm sorry not to have followed up after abandoning the escape room plans a few weeks ago. But I have re-booked for Monday evening, if anybody would still like to go. I know we've all been through quite a bit the last few weeks so if it isn't the right time or of interest now, I absolutely promise I will not be offended. I have to admit, even I was a little hesitant after it turned out I wasn't very good at stealing chalices after all!

Along those lines, I do think most of us are caught up on the big picture of what happened with everyone at the beginning of the month, but if you have any fun little stories or interesting discoveries, I would love to hear about them. From here on base or anywhere and anytime else!

So, we're going on two days in a row of weird anomalies popping up and making our lives more interesting (if we're thinking that yesterday's glitched-out obstacle course was an anomaly and not just someone messing with the settings - jury's out on that one)

I think the only responsible thing to do is to start taking bets as to what the next thing will be. We've had funky internet, we've had clocks set to Latin only, we've had all sorts of techy glitches, and now we've got weirdass lighting. I'm typing this up lit only by the glow of my screen and what I have to think is a gas-powered lantern, given the constant flickering

My guess is the next thing is going to have something to do with transportation. We're going to wake up to find that all the cars have been replaced with horses and buggies and electric scooters

has anyone else tried the new edison espresso shot? i think deja brew just launched it yesterday. i had one yesterday and thought it was pretty good but it didn't give me the BOOST i necessarily wanted, so i had 4 early this morning and then i went back around and got another one and i have to say i do feel like there's a real K I C K to these that has taken me by surprise. and it has me thinking about what it would be like to give one of these to someone in 1904 (that's when i was, 1904, i'm not sure everyone knows that), but honestly they would probably be into it because everything they ate and drank back then was insane except me and einar DID try the world's first hamburgers and they were pretty solid though they weren't five guys or in n out or even burger king in a pinch although mcdonalds has better FRIES than burger king, and historically did have the best toys with their happy meals, particularly their star wars toys

that reminds me! mallory, do star wars characters count as icons of the silver screen? and would that be limited to movie characters or could we be sw television characters? granted i know a television isn't a silver screen because movie screens used to have silver in them and did you know that movies used to be made of nitrate which burns three times faster than paper which gives me an idea anyway you should try the espresso! i might get another one later ☺️

We're working on a new tool to use in the field that uses sound waves to incapacitate someone. Side effects will include nausea, dizziness, or disorientation. We will be testing it at the max distance and a low setting to minimize the effects but you will feel shitty. We'll have plenty of water and ginger tea on hand at least plus healing patches

If you choose to assist, you can get one of the following rewards

baked goods of your choosing (I make better brownies than cakes though)
